Prof. Peter Wanderi
An Associate Professor at Kenyatta University where he is the Director, University- Industry Partnerships under which he served as the founding Director of Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre at Kenyatta University between 2011 and 2013.
Has over 22 years of continued University-based teaching and research, and is currently the Director, University – Industry Partnerships at Kenyatta University and a UNESCO/ Leuphana University (Germany) / Kenyatta University certified entrepreneurship trainer.
He has established and sustained numerous competitive international and local projects through collaborations / partnerships; for example; 1999, a KAAD Project in Germany; 2005, OSSREA Project; 2007, a second KAAD (Germany) Project; 2007, a UNESCO Consultancy; 2010, Association of African Universities project; 2009, a University of Manitoba (Canada) project; 2009, a Nile Basin Research project at University of Bergen, Norway; 2011 to 2013, three Kenya National Commission for UNESCO projects; 2012, Aletheia University (Taiwan) project; 2012, African Development Bank sponsored Entrepreneurial Promotion Project in Dakar, Senegal; 2012 to 2013, an ongoing entrepreneurial promotion project with University of Leuphana (Germany);
He has published 18 articles in referred journals, 10 book Chapters and 2 books. Since 2005, he has successfully served as the External Examiner / Visiting Professor / a Consultant for 4 Universities within the East Africa region and beyond namely: University of Dar es salaam, University of Nairobi, Kyambogo University (Uganda), Kigali Institute of Education (Rwanda), Makerere University and University of Benin (Nigeria).
He participated in a senior Government Officers Workshop in China on Science, Technology and Innovation in September 2012. In 2005, he was awarded a Senior Scholars Research award by the Organization of Senior Scholars of Eastern and Southern Africa; In 2007, he was awarded a Research Grant by the German based organization, Katholischer Akademischer Auslaender-Dienst (KAAD) for a research project entitled, “The Traditional Games of the Maasai of Kenya: A Cultural- Educational Appraisal”.
He is the founding member (Organizing Secretary) for the newly established African Sports Management Association (ASMA) and a founding member of the World Association for Sports Management (WASM) founded in Taiwan in April 2012 and hence was instrumental in organizing the inaugural ASMA conference in Kampala, UG, in 2011 and the 2nd ASMA conference in Dar es Salaam, TZ, in 2013.
