CRM & E Experience:
I graduated in December 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Resource Management & Extension (CRM & E) with a minor in Public Health at Kenyatta University. The course equipped me with practical skills to solve problems and make decisions in an effective and creative manner in addressing community problems. It has also helped me to keep a positive attitude and think critically for solutions in difficult situations, develop good interpersonal skills and be a team player. The mentorship that I received from CRM & E lecturers instilled in me a strong sense of self-awareness, and the ability to use this awareness to get the best from myself, my work and my environment.
Professional Development:
I obtained a Distinction in Certificate in Leadership Development and Mentorship and successfully attended trainings and graduated from the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI Regional Leadership Center), Cohort 12.
Current Employment:
I am a Generation Change Fellow with United States Institute of Peace, where my key responsibilities include training and developing the capacities of community members and emerging leaders in conflict management through non-violent means.
I also volunteered with Fountain Youth Initiative and Kenya Red Cross where I shared my knowledge and skills but also gained immense experience.
I recently founded Bold Step Initiative in which we are designing and implementing Peace2Rise Project in Siaya County to promote peaceful coexistence, non-violent conflict resolution and leadership skills among the rural youth. My mission is to facilitate communities to actively participate in solving global challenges collectively and peacefully.
